[gɔn'sales 'praȓa], Manuel, peruanischer Schriftsteller, * Lima 6. 1. 1848, ✝ ebenda 22. 7. 1918; aus aristrokratischer Familie; kritisierte in vielen Aufsätzen Großgrundbesitz, Kirche und ausländisches Kapital als Ursachen der nationalen Unterentwicklung; Verfechter eines modernistischen Literaturprogramms. Seine Poesie ist in ihrer antirhetorischen, subtilen Schlichtheit (Reimlosigkeit, freie Strophen, Polyrhythmen) ihrer Zeit voraus.
